Start Right Consultation (£40):
The Start Right Consultation, is an important part of your dog training journey here with us at Armour Canine Training. During this approximately 2 and a half hour long session, we will have an in-depth conversation with you about your dog’s life with things like, where you got your dog and what age, vaccines, exercise routine, sleep pattern, diet, previous training, current behaviours, unwanted behaviours, favourite games, favourite toys, and more…
Once we have built up a picture of your dog, we can then discuss your training goals and what you want to achieve for you and your dog through the training process. Following on from our conversation, we may head out into your local area with your dog, or stay within the home environment. This is so we can observe and see how you handle, communicate and bond with your dog whilst out and about in the real world. During this part of the consultation, we will start training you, so that you can start to see an improvement, and see benefits straight away with your dog. (This is usually, a lead on to a little light homework to practice, until your first 1 2 1 training session, but please don’t be nervous, as you will now have direct contact for correspondence).
After the walk section, which lasts around 10 to 20 minutes, we will head back to your home, and put together a plan of action for going forward. You will have ample time to ask any questions that you may have, and we will also offer a constructive breakdown of what we’ve seen, and what we also think would benefit you and your dog going forward. The last thing we will ask in this session, is if you would like to proceed your training journey with Armour Canine Training?
If you do, this is where we will book you in to your first one to one session. Following your consultation process, we will email you with a breakdown of what we have covered in your brief training walk, so that you have something to refer to on your training journey and you will also be able to contact your trainer, should you have any further questions. (Please note the following: There are some strict guidelines, that we will ask are in place, before arriving for your first consultation. This protects your dog and our staff at all times)
Please note what is contained in your consultation package:
- The Full session is 2 – 2.5 hours.
- In depth discussion all about your dog and how to make improvements.
- A written report about your consultation, sent to your email address within 48 hours covering everything we’ve discussed.
- Contact with your dog trainer through email/ phone/ Facebook.

***Sign Ups Now Live***
This course was initially set up as a puppy advanced training course, which was the follow on to our puppy classes. But, we believe that this class shouldn’t just be limited to just our advancing puppies, as all dogs can benefit from this course. So we changed it to an environmental training course which is accessible to all!
On our environmental training classes put the safety of you and your dog at the forefront in an outdoor environment. Our environmental training classes well structured, so that it’s easy for owner and dog to learn in a busier environment, and at a slightly quicker pace as the outside world can change at any point. You will experience clear training and receive explanations along the way, on how to complete exercises and why we are doing them. We always want you to understand, why we are doing what we do.
In our first session you will introduce your dog to a train station where we will guide you on how to remain safe at all times for your pairing and other patrons of the station. We will show you road safety, how to navigate stairs safely, down stays, loose lead walking, socialisation, and more. The second session we will move away to a different location where you will learn how to use and store a long line, work on recall training away from distractions, advance to crossing busier roads, advance with your safety at stairs, jumps and tricks, plus more. Moving on to your third session we start to progress towards retail parks and getting them used to the hustle and bustle of those environments. Here we will enter various stores so we can show you how to navigate safely around people, we will guide you through introducing your dog to scales and weighing them. They will receive more socialistaion around pets, work on some parkour using the environment to our advantage, and work on more safety around roads and stairs. Our last session we head on through to the Kelpies in Falkirk and use all what you have learned to navigate safely around the complex. Please note week one, we hit the ground running to begin your dogs training, so don’t forget your dogs and lots of treats. The sessions will run for an hour each week, with suitable rest breaks in between each section of training. The first session is always a bit nerve racking, but you’ll quickly get in to the swing of things. 121-Training Sessions (£60):
Armour Canine Training offers a very clear and comprehensive 121 training session for a wide range of issues that you may be experiencing with your dog, no matter the breed or age.
These sessions can happen at your home, local area, or at our training facilities at Livingston Rugby Club, where we can train in a safe and controlled environment. This service is for all breeds of dog and covers all ages from puppies, right through to dogs of an older age.
If it’s specialist, private, support you’re looking for with your dog, the 121-training session is just for you. We will work an hour at a time and dedicate that, to help you solve whatever problem that you are experiencing with your dog, whilst explaining why your dog is acting the way it is. (Once we understand what makes our dogs tick, then we can help our dogs succeed)
We will create a training plan within these sessions, that is unique to you and your dog, to get the best results needed to have a happy bond with your dog. Whatever issue that you are experiencing, we can work through it.
Perhaps your dog is pulling on the lead, not returning when recalled, jumping up on visitors, lunging at people/ dogs/ bikes/ cars, or just not listening to anything you say?
No issue is too big or too small, and a plan can be put in place to help manage many behaviours, remove unwanted behaviours, or teach new skills to bring peace and calmness to you and your dog’s relationship.

Drop off training package (6 week block £320):
This is a unique way to gain a well trained dog, but without you putting in all the initial hard work and effort. You might be wanting to work on that loose lead walking or get that recall that you’ve wanted for a long time, but work or family life just keeps putting the training on a back burner.
Let me take away that stress, worry and pressure, by leading these training sessions on my own with your dog. I will personally train your dog, while you go shopping, read a book, or do whatever demands your time. (You may just want to chill out)
The drop off training consists of 4 x 1 hour and 15 minute training sessions solely between me and your dog. This is then followed by 2 x 1 hour 15 minute training sessions with myself, yourself and your dog.
Prior to the training course taking place, we will discuss your wish list of what you want for you and your dog. The training sessions between me and your dog will be full on for the hour and you’ll probably find your dog sleeps well afterwards.
The final 2 sessions between all 3 of us are really important, as this is where I will take you through everything your dog has learned. You will have the voice cues/ commands which you’ve decided be put in place, whilst I demonstrate the hand signals, body positioning, lead handling and everything else that has been implemented. You will then spend most of these sessions, practicing everything, while I guide you and keep you on the right track to be able to communicate effectively with your dog.
Please note: Ideally this training package should be completed within a 2 month period and ideally in a back to back succession over a 6 week period. This is so that all information is retained by the dog and that it doesn’t go spells of not practicing the new behaviours. We want to input the new desired behaviours and extinguish the other unwanted behaviours, or previously learned ones.
Please note what is contained in your Drop Off training package:
- The Full 6 block sessions contain 1 hour 15 minutes per session, so that your dog still has a full hours training after a catch up on how the training has been progressing. (6 week block = 7 hours 30 minutes)
- An email sent to you within 48 hours of each of your dogs sessions, containing your training plan of what’s been covered and a break down of each exercise to give you an understanding of what’s been covered.
- 2 x 1 hour and 15 minute coaching sessions for you and your dog, so that you can practice what your dog has learnt with me over the last 4 sessions.
- An edited video of your dog training with me, to share on social media. (Each session)
- Contact with your trainer through phone/ email/ Facebook.
- Added to the Armour Canine Training private Facebook group.

***NOW OPEN FOR NEW MEMBERS***
contact us: enquiries@armourcaninetraining.co.uk
The Armour Canine Training Dog Club (A.C.T Dog Club) is a private dog club, that is put together as an end goal for all clients who have progressed through our puppy academy, or have gone through our 121 training sessions. This gives an ongoing progressive training platform at a more affordable option, instead of continuing through a 121 training session.
The A.C.T Dog Club takes place every Sunday in Linlithgow on private grounds, which are not accessible to the public. Each session runs between the hours of 10:15am until 11:30am, and covers a whole range of training, such as obedience, competitive obedience, socialisation, agility, scent work, tricks, impulse control and lots more.
We accept non Armour Canine Training clients. But, before being accepted you must book in a handler/ dog assessment which lasts an hour and 15 minutes, and costs £40. During this assessment session we will be looking at if your dog has any behavioural issues, how effective you are as a dog handler, and what level you are both at in terms of skill. (please note this is done for a safety aspect for all attendees, so we can make necessary adjustments during each session)
Each year there will be a focus on working through various points of training exercises, where there will be various levels you can work towards and achieve certificates. Each summer there will be a friends and family dog club open day, so we can showcase what has been learnt with an awards ceremony.
Some of the yearly awards on offer will be:
Best Handler.
Best Dog.
Best Obedience Dog/Handler.
Best Agility Dog/Handler.
Most Improved Dog.
Most Improved Handler.
Club Member of the Year.
If you are looking to continue your training journey with us, improve on your partnership between you and your dog or maybe just want to have a social side to your life with your dog, then this is the option for you.

FREE Training Walks at The Kelpies Falkirk: (FREE to Clients and Non-Clients)
Our group training walks take place once a month on a Wednesday evening. These are open to anyone who wishes to attend with our head trainer. (You will however be asked if your dog has any behavioural issues we need to know about, and you must have the basic training required to walk with us safely)
Group training walks will assist with socialisation and environmental training, you will be able to guide your dog through various exercises helping build their confidence. You will learn how to communicate effectively with your dog, and learn how to navigate the world around you with consideration for others. The idea of these walks are to help dogs experience lots of sights, sounds, smells and textures whilst not being too overwhelmed and with having the security of having a qualified trainer on hand to navigate the walks.
Dogs will learn to be more relaxed in their environment, as well as to ignore the other dogs in the group and focus on their owner for instruction. We will also use our environment on walks to our advantage and introduce some dog parkour to build dogs confidence and strength too. All walks will also be a great opportunity to work on our obedience training and really strengthen that connection between dog and owner.
As always these will be offered across all our social media platforms and will be a pre-booked service. The spaces will be on a first come first serve basis with the numbers being limited, as this will improve the quality of walk and service from the trainer. Booking can be made through: enquiries@armourcaninetraining.co.uk
Note: We reserve the right to refuse a dog on to our free training walks if we deem it to be dangerous to our group or the general public. Training will be offered to anyone who highlights issues to us about their dog at the regular cost, with the end goal of being able to join future FREE training walks.
